Aerosena: influenza A H1N1..

today as my yahoo home page appeared i was shocked..

H1N1 Flu Outbreak: 1,055 total cases
S'pore confirms new batch of 52 patients

suddenly it hit me.. tis is really serious.. for months swine flu was an overseas thing and i should not be concerned as it will not infect me anyway..

then when it finally hit our shores .. no one cared.. look in the MRTs n buses.. not one wearing a mask ..i shouldn't be concerned cos no one else does..

now in RP .. 9 confirmed cases...people even made jokes abt it sayin that soon the school will close down n we can relax at home..

if i remember correctly when SARS hit us .. several hundred people contracted it..so how is it that swine flu can spread so fast even though we have prior experience with dealing with flu??

i know abt the flu spreading even before symtoms appear..but all those will flu and all people with contact with flu patients are all quarantined.. so how?

what i don't understand is that when SARS hit, schools were closed for 3 months so how is it that when a flu that is spreading so damn fast is infected our population, why are schools not shut down?

will they finally be satisfied when the entire population is infected with flu?

just a titbit of information.. Rupert Grint, the actor who played Ron Weasley has gotten H1N1 so i guess even the rich and famous get flu..
